ECREIN+ European supra-regional network for eco-innovation
The ECREIN+ research project, funded by the European Commission under INTERREG IVc, aimed to compare and evaluate the instruments available in various European regions to promote environmental innovation and investment, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises, and to derive recommendations for the design of future support initiatives from these instruments. In this way, existing financial resources should be used even more appropriately in future and an efficient promotion of eco-innovations in Baden-Württemberg and Europe should be guaranteed. On behalf of the ‘Ministry for the Environment, Climate and Energy Baden-Württemberg’ as one of the leading partners of the European joint project and head of the working group ‘Evaluation, Characterisation and Evaluation of Funding Instruments for the Support of Eco-Innovations’, the IUWA has examined the corresponding state funding programmes and financial assistance, but also the corresponding instruments of the Federal Government and the European Union, for their awareness, their suitability for needs, their feasibility, their benefits and their acceptance by means of a survey among approximate 2000 small and medium-sized enterprises from Baden-Württemberg.
