Analysis of Status Quo and Design of Development Processes for Resource Efficient Structures in Industrial Parks and Regions: Prototypical Examples of Baitao and Wansheng
As part of the energy sector reform programme “Energy Policy and Energy Efficiency (EPEE)” in China, the IUWA worked on behalf of GIZ on the project component dealing with potential analysis for eco-industrial developments at the level of industrial parks and industrial districts in the Chinese province of Chongqing. An essential part of the empirical investigations in the chemical industrial park of Baitao and in the industrial district of Wansheng were company surveys carried out by the IUWA in cooperation with the Energy Saving Centre and the Technical University of Chongqing. The recommendations developed on this basis were discussed in detail on site at both the administrative and company levels and resulted in substance-specific recommendations not only for the administrative units responsible on site, but also for each company involved in the project.
